Booklist Review
Twelve-year-old Fin Spencer has a solid plan for his future: he will be a super stuntman. But what about right now? Will he even survive the next two weeks of school? The story begins on Sunday when Fin takes his little sister, Ellie, to the Fun Fair, and a fortune teller gives him a diary said to grant wishes. Although not the journaling sort, Fin writes. Monday, he is Finterrible Fin; Tuesday, things are just weird; Wednesday, Fincredible Fin has an outstanding day; Thursday, nothing goes right; and so on. Finally he realizes that his diary entries have an impact on his next day's activities. Fin's second week is bad, too, but, in the end, he realizes he must simply focus on being himself and closes the diary. This first installment of the middle-grade Fincredible Diary series has too much narrative to strictly be considered diary format, but creative font use and cartoonlike illustrations will engage imaginative readers. This funny British import should go over well with the Tom Gates crowd.--Petty, J. B. Copyright 2016 BooklistThere are no comments on this title.
