Library Journal Review
On an undercover assignment to deal with a criminal gang operating out of an inn on Puget Sound's Orcas Island, FBI Agent Roman DeWinter is attracted to the inn's owner, Charity Ford, as his investigation puts them both in danger. This compelling, fast-paced romance was originally published in 1989 as a Silhouette Special Edition and more recently in 2012. It is slightly dated (wages, smoking, etc.), but the core holds up well. Note: Many of Roberts's older books have been rereleased, so to avoid confusion, her new original titles are marked with NR in a circle on the cover.Booklist Review
It was almost too easy. When Roman DeWinter arrives at Charity Ford's inn in the San Juan Islands, she is looking for a new handyman. Pretending to be a drifter who is good with his hands allows Roman to insert himself into Charity's life without raising a hint of suspicion on her part. Roman's new job, which comes with room and board, also allows him access to Charity's work and personal spaces, making it that much easier for Roman to find the evidence he needs. However, the more time Roman spends with Charity, the less certain he becomes that she is part of a counterfeiting gang operating in the Pacific Northwest. But is Charity really innocent, or is Roman just falling for a clever con woman? Originally published in paper in 1989, this reprint of one of RITA award-winning and New York Times best-selling Roberts' early series romances skillfully pairs a fast-paced tale of love and danger with a plot laced with tantalizing domestic details. Guaranteed to delight Roberts' legion of fans.--John Charles Copyright 2019 BooklistThere are no comments on this title.
