The third and final book the NYT bestselling trilogy.

Emerson Watts is on the run: from school, from work, from her family, from her friends, from herself.

From Runaway: An Airhead Novel "Em?" Brandon thumped on my door again. "What?" I said, more sharply than I meant to. I had a headache that I really wasn't faking. "I think I found a cure for what you have," Brandon said, through the door. I looked up in surprise at this. Because there is no cure for what I have, since what I have is one hundred percent fake. "Really?" I said. "What is it?" "It's called you better get out here," Brandon said, in a different tone of voice, "or you'll be sorry." Oh. Right. I forgot. Because the tabloids have got it wrong. I'm not on a secret love getaway. I may not exactly be behind bars. I'm not sporting shackles or handcuffs. There aren't even men in black suits standing on either side of me, speaking into little mini-microphones in their sleeves. But I'm Brandon Stark's prisoner, just the same. School Library Journal Review

Gr 7-10-The final volume (Scholastic, 2010) in Meg Cabot's Airhead trilogy wraps up the story of Em Watts, whose brain has been transplanted into America's top model and who, at the opening of the book, finds herself the prisoner of Brandon Stark, son of one of the world's wealthiest and most evil men. Those not familiar with the earlier books may have a hard time figuring out how Em happens to be in this situation and her relationship to some of the other characters. Cabot packs the book with lots of adventure and romance, including the return of Em's true love. While the ending seems a bit pat, fans of the series will be delighted that everyone seems to find happiness. Narrator Stina Nielsen easily moves Em from confusion to indignation to self assurance to self deprecation-a true teenager. And the emphasis on beauty comes across in many conversations. There is a seamless flow from one character's voice to another and all have been given their due, even Em's clueless mother.-Edith Ching, formerly Washington Latin Public Charter School, DC (c) Copyright 2010. Booklist Review

Readers who loved the story and characters in Airhead (2008), in which 16-year-old Em's brain is transferred into the body of supermodel Nikki, and groaned at the cliff-hanger ending of its sequel, Being Nikki (2009), will dive right into the concluding volume in the Airhead trilogy. In this fast-paced novel combining adventure, romance, mystery, and celebrity culture, Em finally comes into her own, better understanding who she is, where she has come from, what she wants, and how to bring things right at last. Em's appealing first-person narrative makes the most of this compelling and ultimately satisfying story.--Phelan, Carolyn Copyright 2010 Booklist

Horn Book Review

Emerson's in the body of supermodel Nikki (Airhead), and Nikki's in the body of someone else (Being Nikki). In the trilogy's final volume, Em, Nikki, and company work to expose the nefarious Stark Enterprises, the corporation responsible for their brain transplants. The story drags--due to Em's stream-of-consciousness waffling--until the teens bring down Stark in an entirely satisfying conclusion. (c) Copyright 2010.
