Enhanced descriptions from Syndetics:
Zaha Hadid is one of the most innovative and celebrated architects working today. Born in Iraq, raised in London, and recipient of the Pritzker Architecture Prize, Hadid has transformed our experience of space and architecture.
This comprehensive, updated monograph of more than two hundred projects--from Hadid's earliest experimentations and product design to follies and large-scale built works, including the recently completed London 2012 Aquatics Centre, Guangzhou Opera House in China, and Eli & Edythe Broad Art Museum in Michigan--is a testament to her innovative, wide-ranging, and exhilarating vision.
Prepared in collaboration with Hadid's London-based practice, the book contains a dazzling array of imagery organized in chronological order, revealing Hadid's earliest inspirations and most recent innovations. Included are the latest high-profile projects, such as the Riverside Museum in Glasgow, the Library and Learning Centre for the University of Economics in Vienna, and the Grand Théâtre de Rabat in Morocco.
An introduction by critic and museum director Aaron Betsky considers Hadid's entire career, both in the context of architectural history and as a manifestation of the current and future state of architecture.

Library Journal Review
First published in 1998 as Zaha Hadid: The Complete Work, this title was updated and expanded in 2009 and then again in 2013 as more of the architect's works were constructed. Hadid's unexpected death early in 2016 may make this the final edition, although so many of her buildings are currently under construction that another book shouldn't be out of the question. With each update, architecture critic Aaron Betsky adds to his introductory essay and here notes the architect's widespread fame and her elevation to the British title of Dame. Hadid herself is credited with the descriptions of the buildings, furniture, objects, and other projects, and the text focuses largely on her design intent for each. Two to four pages of drawings, photographs, and some plans illustrate the works. Revised descriptions and photographs of projects completed after the previous edition are also included. There is some value in consulting all three editions as several less-important creations were cut or condensed to make room for new projects, and sketches and models of proposed designs were replaced with photographs of the built structure. VERDICT Essential for anyone interested in this world-renowned architect.-Amy Trendler, Ball State Univ. Libs., Muncie, IN © Copyright 2016.
