Enhanced descriptions from Syndetics:

Bedtime means brushing your teeth, putting on pajamas, snuggling, and kissing your family goodnight. For monsters, bedtime looks a little different. They brush their teeth, but not with a toothbrush. They get dressed for bed, but not in slippers and nightcaps. They snuggle, but not with a blankie or a teddy bear. Monsters Go Night-Night takes readers through the bedtime rituals of seven friendly monsters while making each step of the routine a guessing game. Getting ready for bed has never been so much fun!

School Library Journal Review

PreS-Gr 1-How do monsters get ready for bed? In the silliest way possible! Sure to elicit giggles, this book works well as a bedtime story. The question-and-answer format is engaging for young readers. Bright and cheery illustrations clearly support the text and provide depictions of potential answers to the questions posed. Even toddlers will know the correct answers and will howl at the monsters' goofy choices. For example, "What kind of pajamas do monsters wear?" The options depicted on the page include a four-legged onesie, a nightcap, four bunny slippers, and a roll of toilet paper. You guessed it: the entire roll of TP. VERDICT Children can point out their answers, identify colors, learn new vocabulary words, count eyes, or simply sit back and enjoy the cuteness with this funny selection for most early literacy collections.-Katie Darrin, Boulder Valley School District, Boulder, CO © Copyright 2016. Horn Book Review

This goofy monster book offers a counterpoint to commonsense bedtime routines. "MONSTERS eat bedtime snacks. / Which snack do MONSTERS eat?" The oddball answer is "UMBRELLAS!" rather than the healthy options also displayed. The pattern continues, though some answers will be familiar to kids (e.g., monsters go potty in the toilet). Ink-and-brush illustrations, digitally colored in Photoshop, depict the friendly looking creatures' appealing antics. (c) Copyright 2017.
