Enhanced descriptions from Syndetics:
Hide and Seek: Crocodile is so excited to play hide and seek with his best friend Alligator. Crocodile covers his eyes and counts to ten. It doesn't take him a moment to find his friend though, Alligator's big floppy tail won't hide behind anything in the jungle. But what will happen when Crocodile tries to hide himself? Bake a Cake: Crocodile isn't too pleased with Alligator - he said he'd help him make a lovely cake in the kitchen but all he's done so far is drop the flour on the floor, smash the sugar bowl and try to juggle eggs. Crocodile sighs and tells Alligator to measure out the raisins. "You can eat one but no more." Will Alligator do as he's told?

School Library Journal Review
K-Gr 2-Newly confident readers may well enjoy these two offerings. Creepy Customers is divided into five short chapters in which a bored Steve is helping his pharmacist father. Odd characters keep coming into the store-a witch, a vampire, a werewolf, and finally a man carrying his head in his arms. Shaken, Steve tries to convince himself that they are all going to a costume party, but he's not so sure. He decides that working in a drugstore is not so boring after all. Alligator Tails consists of two short, silly stories-one in which a large alligator finds it difficult to play hide-and-seek and another in which he makes a royal mess while helping a crocodile bake a cake. It has more repetition, making it easier for young readers. Both books include colorful illustrations that enhance the story lines. They are filled with light humor that's sure to appeal to children.-Anne Knickerbocker, formerly at Cedar Brook Elementary School, Houston, TX (c) Copyright 2010. Gr. 1-3. This cheerful title in the I Am Reading series includes two short stories accompanied by playful watercolor illustrations that pick up the mayhem and fun between two friends. Bespectacled Crocodile is the one in charge. When they play hide-and-seek, Crocodile finds Alligator every time, until Alligator finally works out the best place to hide. When the friends bake a cake, Alligator is messy, but they both wipe up the mess. What Alligator is best at is eating cake. New readers will enjoy the friendship story, with gentle slapstick reminiscent of Arnold Lobel's Frog and Toad easy readers. --Hazel Rochman Copyright 2005 BooklistThere are no comments on this title.
