School Library Journal Review

PreS-Gr2-Roger the Rabbit is having trouble falling asleep. However, Mommy Rabbit has an idea. Together they journey to find Uncle Yawn, the kind wizard; he will know what to do. Along the path they meet helpful friends Sleepy Snail and Heavy-eyed Owl. Uncle Yawn reads from his book of spells and then sprinkles mother and son with invisible sleeping powder. Rabbit barely makes it home before falling sound asleep. Two narrations are provided. Fred Sanders and Kathleen McInerney use a calming voice and timely yawns and are accompanied by soothing music. VERDICT An optional purchase. ["Ultimately, the book is instructional and didactic, specifically written for children who experience great difficulty winding down at the end of the day": SLJ 12/15 review of the Crown book.]-Cheryl Preisendorfer, Twinsburg City Schools, OH © Copyright 2016.
