Enhanced descriptions from Syndetics:
Horrible Harry has always loved insects, especially digging in the dirt for them. And, recently, he's discovered a new favorite- earwigs! But when he tries to tell his friends about these critters, only Song Lee listens. So when Miss Mackle assigns groups in Room 3B to act out different fairy tales, Harry sees an opportunity to teach the class about his favorite bug. Will they think his play is hilarious...or horrible?

Gr 2-4-When Harry's third-grade class has to act out fairy tales, he convinces his group to include his favorite insect, earwigs, in their rendition of "Goldilocks." Earwig facts are incorporated seamlessly as Harry helps his classmates overcome their aversion and produce a funny play. A drama script is included (c) Copyright 2011. Since his debut in Horrible Harry in Room 2B (1988), Harry has shown an affinity for horrible things, such as snakes and insects. This latest chapter book combines Harry's love of bugs with a group assignment to act out a fairy tale. Harry unearths a dead earwig, names him Edward, and gives him a proper burial. In Edward's honor, Harry's group dramatizes an original fairy tale, Goldilocks and the Three Bugs. Kline helpfully provides their short play script with the story. Not many series reach the 20-year mark, but this one is still going strong.--Phelan, Carolyn Copyright 2008 BooklistHorn Book Review
This Horrible Harry story centers on the narrator's third-grade-class study of fairy tales. Harry and his group of friends retell the story of "Goldilocks and the Three Bears" to reflect Harry's fascination with insects. The classroom scenes are realistic, the characters are engaging, and the writing style is uncomplicated. This series entry will satisfy fans and newcomers alike. (c) Copyright 2010.
